Organic Pads
Europe’s first and only ECE R90 approved pad. These pads brake as well as sintered pads, as proved by R90 compliance. Made in our own factory in Bristol, England, the EBC aramid series has now been renamed NAO series or Non-Asbestos Organic, although we still use the famous Dupont aramid fibre in conjunction with other high tech fibres that have come on the market. The NAO series are a superb all round value-for-money replacement for all levels of motorcycle and are still extremely popular with many riders who prefer the “feel” of organic pads.
NAO series are fully TUV tested and KBA certified and conform to the new ECE R90 brake regulations which are about to storm the European market. EBC is at the forefront of this technology and will be the first on the market to offer Reg. 90 approved pads and packaging. Most EBC organic pads have expansion grooves which reduce noise and prevent cracking. The aramid fibre compound with non-ferrous particles helps to prevent surface “scorching” under load.
NOW ECE R90 APPROVED
What does R90 mean? Cheap and nasty motorcycle brakes are the quickest way to an accident no matter where or how you ride. EBC Brakes welcomes the new legislation on ECE R90 brake safety testing that shuts the door on unworthy parts. Until recently all EBC Brakes were tested by the notorious German TUV test centres.

Double-H™ Sintered Pads
The true and undisputed KING of fast motorcycle brakes. Within one year of their launch in 2004 Double-H™ became the standard by which all brake pads for streetbikes were judged because of their long lasting and powerful brake effect.
These pads benefit from the highest friction HH rating for maximum stopping power, made in the USA from sintered copper alloy like original pads for longer life and perfect braking stainless steel radiator plates are fitted to reduce heat transer into bikes hydraulics where required. Some callipers feature phenolic pistons and generally these do not require insulation.. The unique double segment vented design improves braking under all riding conditions, wet, dry, hot or cold. On wider EBC pads this keeps the pads cooler and prevents pad drag and overheat or fade.
When EBC broke into the sintered pad market, it really did its homework. We took all the current market offerings, tested them, analysed them and beat them. We removed the iron powders commonly used in many sintered pads that cause the pad to weld to the disc under corrosion when the bike is parked and replaced it with stainless powder. The EBC factory on Ohio is now the largest OE supplier of sintered friction in America.
Over the years many competitors have entered the sintered pad market and of course visually many pads look just the same, but there is a massive difference. Recent test performed on lower priced competitor sintered pads revealed massive loss of friction level and rapid wear, over 5 times faster than the EBC product. Our promise at EBC is to deliver equal or better brakes than any ORIGINAL pads at a lower price and this promise holds true offering you fantastic brakes at value for money.

V Pads
E391 is an asbestos free, organic, moulded friction material designed for use in heavy duty and off-highway motorcycle applications. 30% copper by weight added makes this a high copper pad close to sintered durability levels. It has a medium-high coefficient of friction (μ) which retains a highly effective braking performance over a wide range of operating temperatures. This material offers stable braking with minimal pad and rotor wear, and minimal dusting of wheels. Application Heavy duty long life organic material for heavier touring bikes. Being a semi-sintered pad containing 30% copper by weight, the V-pad combines the benefits of the “feel” of an organic pad plus the low heat generation and rotor galling features that organics have with the lifetime of a sintered pad. Wear Rate / Projected Street Miles – 0.75 grammes eq. to 42,800 miles. TÜV German Approved.
Design Conditions:
Max. continuous temperature 400°C
Max. intermittent temperature 600°C
Physical Properties:
Min. assembly shear strength, 400 N/cm2, Density, 2.98 g/cm3

VLD Limited Edition Chrome Pads
- Life of sintered pad – feel of an organic pad;
- Zero brake noise;
- Zero rotor galling, gentle on rotors.
Using the exact same compound as Vee pads above, a limited range of pads for the cruiser market is now available with polished chrome backing plates. Bonding of friction material onto backing plates could not be achieved without the NUCAP of Canada NRS system featuring a hook pattern which EBC Brakes applies to its backing plates under licence from NUCAP.
